¡Libre!

Super excited to be working again with the talented guys at Brew Union Brewing Co. This time they are opening up a Mexican Restaurant called ¡Libre!. I met with Murray and Jules at the end of last year to get a good feel of what ¡Libre! was all about and what they were trying to achieve with their new restaurant and brand. They wanted a relaxed Mexican cocktail bar vibe with a look that appealed to a mainly feminine audience. Libre of course is Spanish for free so we needed to come up with a design that encapsulated the feeling of freedom and liberty. I did some research into Mexican type and the signwriting they put on their store fronts. Amazing bright colours, really casual and no big deal if there is a mistake or two! I really liked this idea and approached this design with the same feeling of casualness (is that even a word?) and tried to be more free with the design. Hence, a custom hand scripted logo, painted freehand first and then digitalised. With a colour palette for the visuals of electric blue, deep red and turquoise. Still to come is the menu and website design but here is a sneak peak...
